The Bernese Mountain dog is a fabulous family pet.
Their temperment is warm and loyal and sweet.
Berners "LOVE" their people and want nothing more than
to be with them. Bernese Mountain Dogs do not like to be left alone for long periods of time. They would rather be involved in what the family is doing. They are a working breed and enjoy having a job. They have quite a bit of energy as pups, but as adults they tend to settle into a rather relaxed or slower pace. They respond well to training and it is our opinion that obedience training is a GREAT idea. Berners also enjoy being active with Agility, Drafting, Rally, Therapy Visits, hiking, etc. Females on average weigh about 90 lbs as an adult and males 110 lbs.
